KKR’s Varun Chakaravarthy heaped praise on teammate and fellow spinner Suyash Sharma and said he is wishing that the youngster fast tracks himself into the Indian team.
Suyash has been the find of the season for the two-time IPL Champions as he has picked up nine wickets in his debut season. The 19-year-old was once again amongst the wickets in KKR’s win over RCB on Wednesday as he ended up with figures of 2/30 and got the big wicket of Faf du Plessis as well.
Chakaravarthy, while talking at the post-match press conference, talked about KKR’s spin department and hailed Sunil Narine as a legend. Talking about his young teammate, the KKR spinner tipped Suyash to play for India in the future and said he wishes the 19-year-old is able to fast track himself into the national team.
“The most senior is Sunil Narine. He is a legend. The way he guides and talks to us is amazing. Suyash Sharma who has come in the team. I could say that he is a guy for the future for the country and he is an amazing talent. I wish he can understand the level of cricket we are playing and he can fast track his way to the Indian side,” said Chakaravarthy.
Chakaravarthy produced another top spell against RCB on the day and was adjudged as the Player Of The Match. The KKR spinner said he had watched the previous games he played against RCB and focused on the technical aspects of the batters.
“You have to be confident every ball you bowl. Even if you slip in your confidence, the effort is not going to translate in your bowling. I did watch the previous games I played against RCB. I saw those videos. I could see the technical aspects of their batters, where they were targeting. So I was focused on that,” said Chakaravarthy.
