An incident of firing has occurred at a military station in Bathinda, Punjab, India, resulting in the death of four individuals. The Quick Reaction Team (QRT) has been active since the incident occurred, and the entire area has been sealed off. A search operation is underway.
Bathinda military station is located near the city and is an old and quite large military station. It used to be located a bit far from the city, but with the expansion of the city, the military station has come closer to residential areas. Access to the station can be gained through any regular vehicle. There is usually tight security outside the station.
According to recent reports, the incident occurred inside the Officers’ Mess. The incident occurred at around 4:35 am, so it is being estimated that it may have been a matter of conflict between military officers. Firing has stopped at the moment. Earlier reports suggested that firing was still ongoing.
